Perspectives on Venture Capital

One of YES's largest on-campus events, "Perspectives on Venture Capital" (POVC) is an annual panel discussion made up of entrepreneurs and venture capitalists as well as a reception before and after with hors d'oeuvres and refreshments. POVC is sponsored by Finn Dixon & Herling and Elm Street Ventures and organized in conjunction with the Yale School of Management’s Entrepreneurship Club.

What: Perspectives on Venture Capital
When: October 23rd, 2006

Panelists will discuss successful early stage venture funding and warn upstarts against common funding mistakes. Moderated by David Albin, Partner, Finn Dixon & Herling. Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served. Business attire required.

* Colin Foster, President and CEO of Optherion, Inc., a New Haven biotechnology startup; former CEO of Bayer’s North American Pharmaceutical operations
* Liddy Karter, Managing Director of Karter Capital Advisors; Director of the Connecticut Technology Council Innovation Pipeline Accelerator; Managing Director of the Connecticut Angel Investing Forum
* Deborah Santy, State Program Director for the Connecticut Small Business Innovation Research Office.
