Marty Rod, President

Mr. Rod is a senior in Yale College and a prospective double major in economics and psychology. Last year, he was the director of the For-Profit division of the Y50K competition. He is currently the Chief of Operations in charge of the Y50K, Y2K, and all educational and networking events. Marty is interested in the business and production sides of the entertainment industry, and has also performed at Yale as an actor, vocalist, dancer, and jazz guitarist. His last most significant internship was working under the Director of Programming for Telepictures Productions, a branch of Warner Bros. in charge of syndicated television programs such The Bachelor, Ellen, and Extra.

Jeffrey Reitman, Director, Department of Technology

Mr. Reitman is a senior at Yale College and a Biomedical Engineering major. This year he founded GXStudios, Inc. with fellow YES members, Brad Hargreaves, Sean Mehra and Matthew Brimer, and launched their flagship product, GoCrossCampus.com, an online social gaming platform that allows students to join teams to conquer their school. Mr. Reitman was also the 2nd Place National Winner for the Siemens Westinghouse Science & Technology Competition for his research on using nanoparticles to enhance polymer properties for improved space lubricants and nanolithography.

Janet Xu, Editor-in-Chief, Yale Entrepreneur Magazine

Janet Xu is currently a senior political science major at Yale. She first became involved in YES sophomore year as a news editor for the Yale Entrepreneur, where she is now Editor-in-Chief. Aside from YES, her other activities and work experiences include Workman Publishing, Breakthrough Collaborative, Yale University Press and Hill & Knowlton (Beijing). Janet will be working as a Business Analyst at Sears Holdings next year.

Matthew O. Brimer, Director, Department of Innovation

Matthew O. Brimer is a junior in Yale College and a Sociology & Economics major. Mr. Brimer is Co-Founder (along with a few fellow YES cohorts) and Chief Marketing Officer of GXStudios, Inc., a web startup company with their flagship service GoCrossCampus, an emerging massively multiplayer social gaming platform devoted to bringing custom-tailored online games to college campuses and other affinity groups worldwide. Mr. Brimer has also founded and led a number of small entrepreneurial enterprises in a variety of fields, including an antique furniture acquisition and auction business, a t-shirt design and sales firm, and a community-podcasting time capsule website. Mr. Brimer has also worked in marketing, digital strategy, and business development for Apple Inc., Osborne Recruitment, Engraphix Architectural Signage, and Yale University. He has a penchant for grand strategy, social media, predictive analytics, the joys of bureaucracy, and historical revisionism.

Marlin Cohen, Director, Department of Finance

Marlin Cohen is a junior at Yale College and an Economics major. Marlin was in YES's Innovation Department her sophomore year and now serves as Chief Financial Officer, managing YES's funds. At Yale, she also mentors New Haven high school students through the Youth Leadership Initiative. Marlin has interned at Davis Polk & Wardwell and at Deutsche Bank. She is from New York City and lives in Morse College.

Henry Finkelstein, Director, Department of Conferences

Henry Finkelstein is a Junior in Yale College and an Economics major. Last year he worked in the Operations department helping recruit speakers, judges, and sponsors for various YES events. His primary interests are microfinance, development economics, and economic policy. Last summer Henry worked in a microfinance NGO as well as an internet marketing specialist for Price Builders Inc. and GXStudios, Inc. Henry is looking forward to working with alumni and entrepreneurs across the country.

Sara Greenberg, Director, Department of Human Resources

Sara Greenberg is a junior economics major in Yale College. Sara�s involvement with YES began her sophomore year as a member of the marketing department. As this year�s department chair of human resources, Sara hopes to better integrate the various departments of YES as well as to make the organization more attractive to a broader cross-section of Yale Students. Aside from her involvement in YES, Sara is a member of the Women�s Varsity Lacrosse team and is also very active in the Women�s Leadership Initiative and Jewish Leader Fellowship Program. Sara has held internships with the Yale Investments Office and in the Merrill Lynch Hedge Fund Development Group. Most importantly, she is a huge Philadelphia sports fan!

Richard Littlehale, Director, Department of Development

Mr. Littlehale is a junior at Yale College and a History major. He is a varsity rower on the Yale Crew Team. His primary interests are entrepreneurship, prudent and virtuous leadership in business and politics, and investing. Rich has recently started up a non-for-profit called Party For a Cause Foundation (PFC), which seeks to get college students involved with charitable causes in a fun and innovative way to facilitate the raising of awareness and money to those causes. Rich's role as Development head fits in to a entrepreneurship web venture he is currently working on- to find ways to connect and educate YES members and other college students with great work opportunities, so they can then make the most informed decisions about their future internships and careers.

Jessica Rubin, Director, Department of Campus Outreach

Jessica Rubin is a junior biomedical engineering major in Yale College. Her involvement in YES began her sophomore year as a member of the Campus Outreach department. As this year's campus outreach chair, Jessica hopes to make YES attractive to a broader cross-section of Yale's undergraduate population. She also hopes to continue to form relations with other groups on campus in order to generate more interest in YES speakers and events, to build relationships with Yale graduate and professional schools, and to maintain stable working relationships with Yale faculty and staff. Aside from her involvement in YES, Jessica is on the board of the Yale Medical Professions Outreach and is the statistics editor for the Yale Daily News' Insider's Guide to the Colleges. She is also member of the Student Food Advisory Committee, the Yale Club Field Hockey Team, and the Jewish Life Fellowship Program. Jessica is originally from St. Louis, MO and currently lives in Trumbull college.

Joe Walker, Director, Department of Competitions

Mr. Walker is a junior in Yale College and an Economics and Political Science double-major. After managing YES's finances as the Chief Financial Officer last year, he now serves as the Chief Operating Officer of YES, managing the Y50K and Y2K entrepreneurship competitions and related educational events. He is also an Associate Editor of The Yale Entrepreneur, Yale's business publication, and a Principal in the Yale College Student Investment Group. He worked this past summer at Morgan Stanley in New York City as a Sales & Trading analyst in the Institutional Equity Division. He is originally from Media, Pennsylvania and he currently lives in Davenport College.

Sam Silverman, Director, Director of Marketing

Sam Silverman is a sophomore economics major in Yale College. Sam's involvement in YES began his sophomore year as a member of the marketing department under current President, Marty Rod. Sam is interested in real estate development and finance, and estate tax planning. Sam hopes to re-vitalize the image of YES by re-designing marketing materials and reaching out to a more diverse group of Yale entrepreneurs. Aside from his involvement in YES, Sam was recently elected President of Chabad at Yale, and is also a member of the Finance team of the Yale Herald and YTV News. Sam has held internships with the First Capital Corporation, a real estate finance firm, Waterfront Properties Inc., a real estate brokerage firm, and Thomas N. Silverman PA, an estate tax law firm.

Alina Yang, Director, Department of Community Outreach

Alina Yang is a sophomore in Calhoun and a prospective economics and international studies major. She is interested in social entrepreneurship and international business. She hopes to bring the entrepreneurial resources and spirit of YES to the greater New Haven community. She is also a part of AIESEC, the largest international student organization in the world, which promotes cultural understanding through internship exchange; Elmseed, a microcredit organization for New Haven businessmen that won the Y50K in 2001; and the women's water polo team.
