Joe Walker, President

Joe Walker is a senior in Yale College and a Political Science major. Before serving as President of YES, he previously served as YES’s Chief Operating Officer (managing the Y2K and Y50K entrepreneurship competitions and associated educational and speaking events) his junior year and Chief Financial Officer (managing YES’s finances) his sophomore year. He has also been an Associate Editor of the Yale Entrepreneur (YE) magazine, Yale's business publication, and a Principal in the Yale Student Investment Group (SIG), which manages a $250,000 investment portfolio. He spent the past two summers working at Morgan Stanley in New York City, where he was a Sales & Trading analyst after sophomore year and an Investment Banking analyst after junior year. He is originally from Media, Pennsylvania and he lives in Davenport College.
 

Michael Ma, Director, Department of Technology

Michael Ma is a senior in Morse College and an Economics major. Michael had previously been a part of YES in the Development Department and Competitions Department. He has interned at Smith Barney and Merrill Lynch in past summers. Previously, he worked in the Competitions Department as For-Profit Liaison for the Y2K and Y50K. Michael is focused on integrating the web-based technology available to YES to better serve the different Departments of YES and entrepreneurial students at Yale.
 

Jon Gordon, Director, Department of Development

Jon Gordon is a junior at Yale University pursuing a double major in political science and economics. Prior to becoming Director of Development, he served as a staff member in the department and focused on raising money from investment banks. Outside of YES, Jon is involved in a number of venture start-ups including Gotta Mentor and Grade Guru. He also serves as Vice President of the Yale Student Investment Group, which manages a $250,000 investment portfolio and as deputy match secretary for Yale Club Rugby. He spent last summer working at commodities brokerage firm MF Global on the Natural Gas OTC desk and hopes to pursue a career in finance upon graduation.
 

Alexander Ramey, Director, Department of Competitions

Alex Ramey is a junior Ethics, Politics and Economics major in Trumbull College. Alex joined YES in the fall of his sophomore year, working as a judging liaison in the then Operations Department. He is now happy to serve as the Director of Competitions, running the society’s Y50K Business Plan Competition. Last summer Alex interned with the Department of Homeland Security’s Private Sector Office, doing economic analysis of security regulations. In addition to YES he also serves as an officer of the Yale Tory Party and is a member of the Yale Political Union.
 

Brandon Wilton, Director, Department of Finance

Brandon Wilton is a junior in Yale College and a prospective major in economics. Last year, he worked as a staff member in YES’s Finance Department. In addition to his involvement in YES, he is also Editor-in-Chief of the Yale Economic Review and is a member of the Yale International Relations Association. Outside of Yale, Brandon has studied Mandarin Chinese in Beijing as part of the Princeton-in-Beijing program and has interned at the Shanghai office of SmithStreetSolutions, a consulting firm. Brandon is most interested in finance and venture capital in China, and hopes to make a career there upon his graduation.
 

Justin Woo, President, Yale Entrepreneur Magazine

Justin Woo is a junior Art major with a concentration in graphic design. As a freshman, he began as the art director for the Yale Entrepreneur magazine. Although the past two years under his direction have led to numerous explorations for the ‘YE look,’ the magazine has become one of the most recognizable and anticipated publications on the Yale campus. And when he’s not compiling style guides and flipping through swatchbooks, he heads his own design and marketing collaborative, watches Family Guy on Hulu.com and talks about why the ‘HeadOn’ commercial is pure genius with his friends.
 

Alina Yang, Director, Department of Social Entrepreneurship

Alina Yang is a junior Economics and International Studies major. This is her second year serving on the Board; she ran the Community Outreach department, which launched the YES High School Entrepreneurship initiative last year. She is interested in social entrepreneurship and international business, and hopes to infuse a sense of social entrepreneurship into the greater understanding of entrepreneurship on this campus. Outside of YES, she is also the President of AIESEC, an international leadership and business organization; and captain of the women's water polo team.
 

Vivek Raman, Director, Department of Public Relations

Vivek Raman is a sophomore in Yale College double majoring in Economics and Applied Physics. Vivek first became involved in YES as part of the Campus Outreach department, where he helped spread YES’s presence to the Law School, Management School, and to other parts of campus. As Director of Public Relations, Vivek will continue spreading YES’s culture of entrepreneurship to the undergraduate and graduate population and to the New Haven community as well as seeking to expand YES on a national and international scale. Aside from his involvement in YES, Vivek is a Research Analyst in the Yale Student Investment Group and a Director of Finance and Expansion for Maya, a student-run consulting, marketing, and advertising organization. Vivek has held internships in finance for Siemens and in cancer therapy research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
 

James Zhang, Director, Department of Operations

James Zhang is a sophomore in Yale College and is a prospective economics major. James’ involvement in YES began his freshman year as a member of the Operations Department where he served as the Social Entrepreneurship Liaison. This year James will be the Director of Operations and will be in charge of optimizing internal operations as YES reaches its 10th anniversary. He is also a writer for the Yale Entrepreneur, treasurer of the Chinese American Students Association, and a member of the Yale Men’s Volleyball Team. This past summer James interned at Smith Street Solutions, a consulting firm in Shanghai. James is originally from Cheshire, CT and currently lives in Berkeley College.
